An outsider is someone who does not fit in because he or she is different. Many times they are associated with being an outsider such as loneliness, and depressed and sad . There are a variety of places that one could feel like an outsider such as school or even at home. Some of the reasons people are outsiders consists of race, language , false opinion of beauty.
There are different kinds of outsiders such as people who choose to be an outsider and those who don’t choose. There are insiders and border liners. I am a border liner because if someone is talking about something I don’t know about I feel like an outsider. When I do know what the conversation is about , I would want to know more about the concept. In all, I am a border liner. Different kinds of outsiders are shown to us by society.
Similarly, stereotypes can cause someone to feel like an outsider. A stereotype is a person who gets judged either because of their race or language they speak. An example of stereotyping is my mom. She was stereotyped at her job, a woman had stereotyped her because of her skin color , the woman had thought she was middle eastern. Stereotypes can mess with someone’s emotions.
Another example about stereotypes and not fitting in comes from the book , “ THE OUTSIDERS.” Two characthers from the book discuss stereotypes. Ponyboy, a greaser believes that since the socs have money they don’t have problems like the greasers do. Cherry, a socs discusses with pony that socs have problems too, not just the greasers.
